Making a wool coat with a bias cut "swing" back from an original Jon Moore pattern. Hand closed run and fell seams and a special pocket detail and canvased collar. The coat is unlined.

A course of 5 mornings , making a pure silk satin bias cut top to a unique Jon Moore designed and drafted patten. Using Couture sewing techniques, including stab stitching pure silk georgette to the satin, taping the neck and over sewing by hand.

A course of 5 days, making a pure wool tweed jacket, backed with canvas and lined in pure silk satin. Using hand tailoring techniques working on tweed, backing with canvas and making a pad stitched collar. Learning how to put in a hand sewn satin lining and trying hand made tailored buttonholes.

A course of 5 days, making a double knit jersey jacket to a unique Jon Moore designed and drafted pattern. Using Couture sewing techniques including trace marking and stab stitching. Making a canvased collar and setting in sleeves. Putting in a silk lining by hand and hand worked button holes.

Couture Tailoring.

A 5 day course using hand tailored Couture techniques to finish a tweed jacket. Including taping and canvassing the jacket front, pad stitching the collar and joining the collar to the jacket by hand. Felling the lining and hand worked button holes.

Fit.

January 2008

A five day course exploring the concept of fit. Students made up various garments, jackets, skirts and dresses and these garments were then fitted on the students in a class situation to show the various techniques involved in correctly fitting a garment.
